Oran, which means “song” in Irish (Amhrán) is based in São Paulo, Brazil. They play traditional folk music from the celtic nations like Brittany, Scotland and especially Ireland, guided by the concept of bringing the riches of these traditions to Brazilian audiences. As the name suggests, the group searches music and song to understand the celtic soul from which spring the impulse to dance with abandon and joy.
Oran represented Brazil at the Festival Interceltique in Lorient, Brittany in 2013, Since 2014 they have partnered with the acclaimed Irish dance company Cia Celta Brasil as well as taking part in the festivals hosted by the Scottish Society of São Paulo. They also host regular Irish seisiúns in São Paulo.
